Jul 16 - Salmon Arm, BC After Show Report
We're already in London, Ontario and I was viewing some of the posts on the website and realized that I hadn't posted my after show comments from the Salmon Arm, BC show. As John Kay says on stage every night "You're looking at 5 young men, using vintage bodies". That comment was so true for our trip to BC on Jul 15-17. Getting there took 3 legs, Nashville to Toronto - Toronto to Vancouver - Vancouver to Kelowna. Then a 2 1/2 hour drive to Salmon Arm. Beautiful country but the flying wore us out. After delays in Toronto on the 15th, Larry, Gary and I missed our connecting flight to Vancouver. They put us on the following flight, but when we got to Vancouver, Larry & Gary were on the connecting flight to Kelowna and I was on a later flight 2 1/2 hours later. By the time my head hit the pillow it was midnight. The show was a first for this part of the country and it has a great success. The crowd was less than 2,000 by the time we went on @ 1045pm because of the rain and wind most of the day and night. We had to drive back to our hotel near the Kelowna airport after the show and arrived @ 245am. The Nashville bunch w/our fly gear had a lobby call of 4am. With a bite to eat at the 24 hour Denny's next door, shower, pack, etc it was time to go. Needless to say, no sleep, but 3 more flights to get home. We were home Mon and Tues, then back to the airport Wed morning. A very "brutal" trip as we called it. Tomorrow we're back to the Toronto airport with flights to Albuquerque (via Dallas) for our show in Santa Fe on Sat, which will be Larry's last show with us. Will write more next week. Take care all!
